Nafin to disperse US$23 million in SME loans

The Secretariat of the Economy (SE) has signed a collaboration agreement with the National Financing Agency (Nafin) that will allow support to be granted to more than 3,500 small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with loans for a total of 250 million pesos (US$23.1 million).

In a press statement, the SE reported that the agreement shows the interest to work on the creation of favourable conditions for these enterprises to gain access to credit, which are not currently subject to financing.

The agreement includes the "General Programme for SMEs", which is aimed at boosting the access of micro-companies to credit in services, commerce and industry. This will help them acquire fixed assets or finance working capital in a segment that is not covered by the banking sector.
