More Indian businesses should generate e-invoice from April 1


Businesses with turnover of over INR 20 crore (US$2.6m) will have to produce electronic invoice for B2B transactions from April 1.

From October 1, 2020, under GST law, in India all companies with turnover of over INR 500 crore (US$66.2m) should issue e-invoices for B2B transactions. This was extended from January 1, 2021, to companies with turnover of over INR 100 crore (US$13.2m). From April 1 last year, companies with turnover of more than INR 50 crore (US$6.6) were generating B2B e-invoices. This is now being extended to companies with turnover of INR 20 crore (US$2.6m) and more.
