The Minister of Tourism, Trade and Industry Mr Daudi Migereko has urged financial institutions to extend credit to small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Speaking recently to heads of SMEs at a training organised by the Uganda Investment Authority, the Private Sector Foundation Uganda and Enterprise Uganda, Migereko said small businesses need to be supported as an anchor for economic growth.
Migereko urged SMEs to articulate their problems aggressively if they hope to be assisted. He also said they should provide solutions to some of their problems as well.
"Unless you go out and demand for help you will never get it, speak about your problems and demand for action," Migereko said.
