Mihaela Luana Dimitriu of Banca Comerciala Romana presents the latest analysis of the Romanian market


 

Market Performance and Supply  Factoring, which was introduced to the Romanian market six years ago, experienced some positive developments during 2000 as the number of providers increased over the period to four companies. There are now three banks (Banca Comerciala Romana, the Romanian Development Bank and Demirbank Romania, all of which have become members of FCI) and a factoring company in its own right, which is a subsidiary of IFIS Italy. All three of the banks offer export factoring services whilst IFIS Italy only offers a factoring service to companies whose debtors are located in Italy. Demirbank Romania so far is the only company which offers an import factoring service. Banca Comerciala Romana is preparing to improve its product range in 2001 by introducing domestic factoring.
