Malaysia to start e-invoicing in June 2024


Malaysia will start implementation of e-invoice from June 2024. The aim of the e-invoice system is to strengthen digital tax service administration and collection.

Like in many countries, the implementation of e-invoice is done in stages. From June 2024, is mandatory for businesses with a yearly turnover of over RM100m (US$22m), in 2025 for businesses with turnover of more than RM50m (US$11m); 2026 for businesses with over RM25m (US$5.5m) turnover and from 2027 is mandatory for all businesses.
