The Danish economy is missing out on billions of euros in growth potential, because Danish companies have failed to make the most of globalisation. The claim was documented in a new report, "Growth Through Globalisation," due to be released by Business Affairs Minister Bendt Bendtsen next week.
The report found that Danish imports and exports could easily benefit by abolishing several trade barriers, and encouraging greater openness toward foreign companies. The report found that both strategies would provide the Danish business sector with a new dynamic.
Denmark is already optimising export potential on a par with fellow EU countries, but is using just 70 per cent of its import potential compared to other EU countries.
