Local bank receives EUR30 million EIB loan for SME finance

The European Investment Bank (EIB) has provided a Ђ30 million global loan to K&H Bank to finance small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Hungary.

The global loan will finance small- and medium-scale projects, mainly by private and public promoters in the field of environmental protection, energy savings, and infrastructure. EIB long-term funding will provide for up to 50% of the total project cost.

Since 1990, the EIB has lent a total of Ђ26 billion in the CEE region to finance projects fostering European integration, approximately Ђ3.5 billion of this figure being provided through global loans. During this period, the EIB has signed global loan facilities for a combined amount exceeding Ђ1 billion with nine partner banks operating in Hungary.
