Lithuania's leasing portfolio may grow by 30 per cent this year


In the past four years, Lithuania's leasing market has expanded at a rate of about 50 - 60 per cent annually, the national Leasing Association said.

In 2003, leasing sales soared by 34.3 per cent, while the leasing portfolio increased by 47.8 per cent, up to LTL 2.697 million (Ђ781,000), as compared with LTL 1.825 million (Ђ528,000) the year before.

Last year, the aggregate value of signed leasing contracts stood at LTL 2.378 million, while the value of financed property was LTL 2.041 million.

The association estimates that VB Lizingas has the largest market share of 36.12 per cent, followed by Hanza Lizingas with 35.9 per cent, Sampo Lizingas with 5.66 per cent, Snoro Lizingas with 5.64 per cent and NORD/LB Lizingas with 5.15 per cent.
