Italian Industry Ministry to launch fund for SMEs investing in Russia

"Promoting industrial districts on foreign markets is a way to internationalise and give new momentum to the Italian economy," said Adolfo Urso, deputy minister for industry and foreign trade. He was speaking at a meeting between 11 Russian regions interested in trading with Italian associations at the Italian Trade Commission.

Urso then stressed the government's commitment to the growth of small- and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) in Russia, where major Italian companies such as Duferco and Merloni operate.

There is soon to be a special fund for Russia, allocated by the Industry Ministry to support investments of Italian SMEs in Russia, following the industrial districts policy.
