Investors look at Romania

Romania jumped from below the top 25 to become the 17th most attractive market for European investors according to an annual survey of executives from the world's largest companies. The survey was conducted by global management consulting firm A.T. Kearney.

Thus, the latest Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Confidence Index showed that European investors were increasingly optimistic about seven countries, seen as the "little tigers" of Europe - Slovenia, Romania, the Baltic states, Croatia and Serbia - as Euro companies seek lower-cost production and export platforms, fresh merger and acquisition targets and new markets.

A.T. Kearney indicated that, for the first time since 1998, a majority of the top ten destinations most attractive to corporate investors were emerging markets, including China, Mexico, Poland, India, Russia and Brazil.
