International Enterprise Singapore launches scheme to help SMEs expand overseas

International Enterprise Singapore (IE Singapore) has launched the iFinance Consulting Programme to help firms expand abroad. It is expected to facilitate more than S$350 million of overseas investments and generate over S$450 million in overseas sales by year's end.

The iFinance Consulting Programme was actually soft launched in October last year and has so far attracted a dozen participants.

"We engage external advice or financial experts to look into and put together a business plan, because very often companies are not able to come up with a good business plan to convince financiers to support them in their internationalisation drive," said Leong Peng Kiong, director, capital enabling division, IE Singapore. IE Singapore will foot up to 50 per cent, or between S$50,000 and S$150,000, of the consultancy fee.
