India's Small Finance Banks set to raise over US$1.2bn via securitisation in FY2024: ICRA report


Securitisation fundraising by small finance banks (SFBs) in India is anticipated to surpass Rs 10,000 crore (US$1.2bn) in FY2024, soaring from Rs 6,400 crore (US$810.24m) in FY2023, encompassing both pass-through certificate issuance and direct assignments, according to ICRA, a premier provider of valuation and information services to the Indian mutual fund industry.

Notably, Q3FY2024 witnessed a remarkable quarterly high in securitisation volumes, totalling Rs 4,200 crore. ICRA predicts that the market share of SFBs in the securitisation sector will reach its pinnacle at 6 per cent in FY2024, a substantial increase from the sub-2 per cent levels observed prior to FY2022.
