The government has announced a series of measures to help small businesses overcome barriers to raising and accessing finance.
Measures to be introduced include:
The publication of a no nonsense guide to access to finance to help build up small- business awareness of the different types and sources of finance available;
A second phase of the government's Phoenix Fund to encourage specialist business support and entrepreneurship in disadvantaged areas and amongst disadvantaged groups;
A review of the Small Firms Loan Guarantee to ensure that the government is doing all it can to help small firms overcome the obstacles to raising debt finance ;
