ICCB's help for tsunami SMEs


The International Chamber of Commerce - Bangladesh (ICCB) has set up a Reconstructing Small Business Fund (RSBF) to extend assistance to the small businesses affected by the tsunami.

This fund will be used specifically to help small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the most affected areas in Asia. ICCB President Mahbubur Rahman said the Paris-based ICC headquarters through its world chambers federation as well as the world chambers network has set up this fund.

As a token of solidarity with the tsunami affected people of Indonesia ICCB president handed over a cheque for Taka 500,000 contributed by 21 Bangladeshi firms. The Indonesian Ambassador thanked ICCB members for their concern and support for the tsunami-affected people of Indonesia. He informed that the Government of Indonesia has taken up massive reconstruction programmes with the help of the international community.

ICCB secretary Ataur Rahman was also present during the meeting.
