Hommocks, a recognised alternative investment manager with a core focus on commodity trade finance, has finalised a US$1.5m receivable finance facility for a leading cocoa powder producer and exporter based in Spain. The facility aims to bolster the exporter’s short-term receivables on cocoa powder shipments directed toward buyers in Northern Africa, reaffirming Hommocks’ strategic role in delivering customised financing solutions to global commodity participants.

The newly structured facility covers receivables in the range of US$100,000 to US$200,000 per shipment, offering tenors of 30 to 45 days. Transactions are arranged on a full-recourse basis and are underpinned by COFACE credit insurance, providing the risk mitigation framework. Hommocks’ affiliate, HMX Finance LLC, serves as the junior lender in the structure, while co-investors assume senior lending positions, creating a layered, repeatable trade finance opportunity.

The transaction demonstrates Hommocks’ capacity to design and implement flexible, secure financial structures that enable commodity exporters to optimise liquidity and manage working capital efficiently. By aligning with a prominent Spanish cocoa exporter and integrating credit insurance protection, Hommocks facilitates uninterrupted trade flows to North African markets while simultaneously generating competitive returns for its investor base.

Established in 2019, Hommocks LLC has steadily grown its portfolio of trade finance offerings, which include receivable finance, supply chain finance, inventory finance, and pre-export finance. Targeting small to medium-sized commodity traders and producers, the firm leverages capital from a diverse pool of institutional investors, private funds, family offices, and merchant banks. Hommocks’ financial support spans a wide range of commodities, including agricultural goods, oil and gas, and metals, underscoring its integral position in the evolving landscape of global trade finance.
