“In Great Britain we now start with our own people but are also considering the possibility of acquisitions”, says Bengt KG Gustafsson, Head of the Handelsbanken Finans Great Britain branch. “Initially we are offering leasing and hire purchase services. The next step will probably be invoice discounting and factoring services.”
Handelsbanken now has ten branches in Great Britain and others are being planned. The branch office network is built up in exactly the same way and on the same principles as in the Nordic region. The Bank offers retail services to local customers, both corporate and private. Handelsbanken also offers Internet and telephone banking services as well as card operations.
