IP Innovations Financial Services, Inc., a provider of specialised financial guarantees and credit enhancements, has successfully assisted GMAC Commercial Finance LLC in making what is believed to be the first-ever term loan supported by a financial guarantee that is secured solely by the borrower's intellectual property (IP).
IPI is providing a 100% financial guarantee to GMAC Commercial Finance on the term loan, assuring any financial obligations will be honoured in the event of default.
"IPI's credit enhancement was a key to completing this transaction," said Douglas Monda, executive vice president of GMAC Commercial Finance, a part of GMAC Financial Services. "Their ability to assess intellectual property value and risk provided us with a significant comfort level."
