Growth of SMEs crucial to Brunei's development


Small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have proven resistant and less vulnerable to the shocks of the economic and financial crisis. However, most SMEs lack entrepreneurship in various fields.

In this respect, the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources in collaboration with the Non Aligned Movement (NAM) and theCenter for South-South Technical Cooperation (CSSTC), is hosting a two-day seminar on "Increasing prospects for rapid and sustainable socio-economic development through business incubators and entrepreneurship."

Haji Abdul Rahman Haji Chuchu the director of Promotion and Entrepreneurial Development at the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources, in his remarks at the opening of the seminar on Tuesday (21 October), said that in Brunei the growth of SMEs is crucial to the economic development objective.
