Government spurs exports with incentives

The South African government is keen to spur exports and it offers a variety of incentives.

The Industrial Development Corp (IDC) offers special low-interest loans to cover the cost of plant and equipment for new or expanded export manufacturing operations or to cover additional working capital needed when implementing additional shifts. To qualify, applicants must have assets of at least R1m and must export at least 60% of the related production.
