Global supply chains grapple with escalating political risks in emerging markets, new report reveals


The new report by Verisk Maplecroft highlights a surge in political and security risks across 27 out of 40 emerging market manufacturing hubs, as multinational companies shift supply chains to mitigate geopolitical tensions.

The dataset reveals increased risk in key manufacturing hubs like Indonesia, Mexico, Poland, Thailand, and Turkey. Civil unrest emerges as a prominent threat, accompanied by other political risks such as government instability and exposure to conflict and terrorism.
