GERLING NCM, one of the world's leading credit insurance and receivables management companies, launched the first two in a series of trade sector forums for insurance brokers in the midlands.
The forums - on the construction and food sectors - took place at Birmingham's Botanical Gardens. Each forum was hosted by GERLING NCM's industry specialists and underwriters, and was attended by insurance brokers with an interest in those sectors.
The forums warned that, in both the construction and food industries, companies need to secure their cash flow and protect themselves against the risk of bad debt in the light of rising insolvencies in both industries over the past year and forecasts for further increases over the next 12 months.
