Fortis appoints new Country Manager for Poland


Fortis has announced the appointment of Alexander Paklons as country manager for Poland.

Alex Paklons was formerly director marketing personal banking at Retail Banking Belgium. He started his career with Generale Bank in 1980 and worked in London (trainee), Singapore (credit and marketing manager) and Paris (heading Retail Banking and Marketing).

He also worked in the Kortrijk region of Belgium for 10 years, first as account manager and then as head of the Kortrijk regional commercial banking office. More recently, Mr Paklons has been in charge of Marketing at Personal Banking, a rapidly developing division of Retail Banking Belgium serving affluent customers.

Mr Paklons graduated in Law from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium) and completed the International Bankers' course at the London School of Economics. Mr Paklons will be succeeded as director marketing personal banking at Retail Banking Belgium by Marc Van den Eede.
