Foreign direct investment below expectation

The Investment Development Authority of Lebanon (IDAL) has said that in 2002 Lebanon recorded a dramatic increase in Arab Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). The authority has been referring to figures compiled by the Inter-Arab Investment Guarantee Corporation (IAIGC), which shows that the country secured $650 million, or 22.3 per cent of the total inter-Arab investment in 2002, making it the second largest recipient among 14 Arab economies.
