Finnish industry sees no rapid recovery

According to the new Business Tendency Survey published by the Confederation of Finnish Industry and Employers (TT) on Thursday, executives in the Finnish industrial sector fail to see signs of an economic recovery at the moment.

The situation in the industrial sector is still bleak, and the outlook for the rest of the year is no brighter, as three in four respondents believe the economic situation will remain the same over the coming months.

Finnish industry has cut 25,000 jobs over the past year. A part of these positions have been transferred to other sectors through outsourcing arrangements, however. According to the TT survey, new job cuts can be expected during the autumn.

The decrease in investments has also continued, and the respondents in the survey estimate that the level of investments even one year from now will still fall short of this year's second quarter.
