FDI to Bulgaria up 50%


Direct foreign investments (FDI) to Bulgaria jumped by 50.4 per cent reaching BGN 1360.7 million in 2003 as compared to 2002, preliminary data show.

Hungary tops the list of foreign investors to Bulgaria with 27 per cent, followed by Greece with 16.4 per cent and the Netherlands with 11.8 per cent.

At the end of November 2003 Bulgaria's Parliament passed at first reading changes in the Foreign Investments bill. The changes put Bulgarian and foreign investors at equal conditions.
