Factoring finance to SME sector increases by 23% in the 1st half of 2020 in Russia


The local Russian factoring association, Association of Factoring Companies (AFK), has published the results on the factoring development in the small and medium-sized business segment for the 1st half of 2020. The survey was answered by 15 factors which interacted with 3,238 small and medium-sized companies and funded more than RUB 295.6bn (US$3.98bn) on this segment, in the first six months of 2020. The aggregate volume of credit risk on the SME segment accepted by the factors (factoring portfolio) as of July 1, 2020, amounted to RUB 90.2bn (US$1.21bn).

The share of SMEs in the total factoring assets on July 1, 2020 represented 13% (July 1, 2019: 16%, and January 1, 2020: 13%), and in the total factoring cumulative financing over the first six months of 2020, increased to 20% (18% in the 1st half of 2019).
