Exim Bank of Thailand and SME Bank sign agreement to facilitate lending to SMEs

The Export-Import Bank of Thailand and the SME Bank signed agreements aimed at facilitating trade financing for small- and medium-sized businesses (SMEs). Sataporn Jinachitra, the Exim Bank president, said the agreement between the state banks would help small businesses gain access to overseas markets and increase import and export opportunities. "We hope that this agreement will help lay a foundation for the future for small businesses wanting to increase their presence in both existing and new foreign markets," he said. Chotisak Assapaviriya, the SME Bank president, said the bank would enter into a similar co-operative agreement with the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Co-operatives to offer financial assistance for food and commodities-related businesses.
