Exim Bank supports exports worth Skk 54.6 bn in 2003


The Export and Import Bank of the Slovak Republic (Exim Bank) reported a net profit of Skk95.7m in 2003. It supported Slovak exports to a total value of Skk54.6 bn through its bank and insurance activities, 6.8 per cent of the country’s total.

According to a governor, Exim Bank supported exports of a total volume Skk40.5bn through its bank activities, the remaining Skk 14.1 bn included insurance activities. Most of the loans and guarantees were provided to support export to EU countries (55.03 per cent), 29.67 per cent to Central European Free Trade Association (CEFTA) countries, 6.83 per cent to South East Asia and 4.61 per cent on former Russia countries.

Exim Bank specialises in the provision of export credit and the financing of advanced technologies. Regarding the export supporting activities, Exim Bank has set Skk60m as a target and plans to enter into higher risk agreements. The Bank’s profit is forecast to be around Skk40m in 2004.
