Europeans ready to support small business in Russia

The European Commission, the supreme executive body of the European Union, is ready to support small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Russia, Richard Wright, the chief of the European Commission's mission in Russia, said at the opening of the 2nd international forum "Small- and Medium-sized Business - the Dictate of Time" on Tuesday.

"The European Commission is ready for further support of SMEs in Russia via its TACIS programme (TACIS is the European Union's programme for developing market economies in the Commonwealth of Independent States), for instance, by means of development of bank services, the introduction of information and communications technologies, the development of local infrastructure and support for enterprise," Richard Wright said.

According to him, the European Union and the European Commission assign priority to cooperation with Russia in this sphere.
