ECGD helps boost small companies in the Northeast with Mexican deal


A small County Durham-based specialist engineering company has won Ј6.7million of business to supply copper tube manufacturing equipment to Mexico with the backing of the Export Credits Guarantee Department (ECGD).

MRB Schumag Ltd, based in Crook, has won two separate contracts, worth Ј2.3million and Ј4.1million each. They are amongst the largest contracts won by the company. The British exporter will be paid by Mexico’s Industrias Unidas SA with two bank loans from the London branch of Sociйtй Gйnйrale, which have been guaranteed by ECGD.

MRB Schumag is a high precision engineering company with 30 employees. It sells, designs and project manages contracts for the supply of capital equipment for drawing copper tube.
