eCapital Commercial Finance UK has strengthened its leadership team with two significant appointments to its Board of Directors, marking a strategic shift to support the company’s next phase of expansion and innovation in the commercial finance sector.

Ant Persse has joined as Chief Product Officer, bringing with him a robust background in finance technology, product development, and credit risk management. His career spans domestic and international markets, where he has led the growth of financial services businesses and managed multi-billion-pound unsecured risk portfolios. Before joining eCapital, he was the CEO of Optimum Commercial Finance, where he played a pivotal role in the company’s transformation and growth trajectory.

In his new role, Persse will lead efforts to embed innovation into the company’s product strategy, leveraging technology to enhance client value and foster scalable growth across the group. His expertise is expected to significantly advance eCapital’s suite of financial solutions while continuing to integrate the Optimum business into the broader organization.

Also appointed to the board is Lisa Cleaver, who assumes the role of Chief Operating Officer. Cleaver’s diverse experience spans startup and scale-up environments, including the launch of a new bank in Australia. Her background in strategic implementation, change management, and operational leadership across finance sectors in the UK, Ireland, and Australia positions her as a critical asset for eCapital’s operational agenda.

Cleaver will oversee the alignment of business strategy with execution, focusing on enhancing operational efficiency and resilience. Her role is also central to scaling the company in line with its regional growth objectives while preserving its high standards of client service.
