The agreement covers the club’s international payment requirements, including financial activity associated with its operations and overseas dealings.Future announcements involving signings for Ipswich Town’s men’s and women’s first teams will carry the phrase “Powered by Ebury”. The company will also receive exposure across the club’s digital channels and at home fixtures.Although the agreement is structured as a sports sponsorship, it also gives Ebury a practical role in the club’s financial infrastructure. Football clubs increasingly operate across multiple currencies through international player transfers, overseas commercial relationships and payments to agents, suppliers and other counterparties.Ebury and Ipswich Town also intend to work together on initiatives aimed at businesses across East Anglia, using the partnership to connect local companies interested in international expansion and cross-border trade.Peter Brooks, co-global head of sport at Ebury, said managing international payments efficiently would become increasingly important as the club continued to grow.“We look forward to building a long-term partnership that supports Ipswich Town both on and off the pitch, while working together to engage the business community across East Anglia,” he said.Abu Salk, finance director at Ipswich Town, said Ebury’s international financial expertise would provide valuable support to the club and create wider opportunities through the partnership.Ebury, founded in London in 2009, provides international payments, foreign exchange risk management, business accounts, financing and application programming interface services.
