Delegation to seek export opportunities in S. Korea

A delegation of Thai small businesses will visit South Korea early next year to explore export opportunities, according to Vivat Vinicchayakul, director-general of the Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Office. Mr Vivat was part of a delegation that recently returned from a business mission to Korea, led by Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak.

He said the office would arrange meetings between Thai and Korean SMEs as well as Korean authorities, and would also stage a conference to provide information and promote Thai goods to prospective Korean investors.

The Thai Export Promotion Department signed three agreements with LG Home Shopping, Lotte and CJ Home Shopping to distribute Thai products in Korea. The Thai government expects the export values of the goods would rise to US$45 million next year from US$3 million this year as a result.
