Daisytek International Corp. said the boards of its subsidiaries in the UK and Australia each appointed a voluntary administrator to assume day-to-day management of the companies. Daisytek distributes computer supplies, office products and accessories in North and South America, Europe and Australia.
In addition, parent company Daisytek International Corp. said it has received a demand from GMAC Commercial Finance PLC for Ј4 million to satisfy obligations from a guarantee Daisytek signed. To date, GMAC hasn't initiated proceedings to collect on the guarantee.
Both Daisytek Australia and ISA International named PricewaterhouseCoopers as voluntary administrator. With this action, creditors' claims are temporarily suspended while assets are managed for the benefit of creditors and shareholders.
