CSOB Slovak branch nets SKK 540m in 9M


The Slovak branch of the Czech bank CSOB raised its net profit to SKK 539.35m in Jan-Sept 2004 from CZK 60m a year earlier, the bank announced.

The CSOB group in Slovakia is made up of the bank, a building society and insurer, a leasing company and a factoring company.

The Slovak bank's total assets reached SKK 80.87bn as of the end of September. Loans were up 19.5 % to SKK 32.1bn and deposits were up 3.7 % at SKK 41.86bn, and deposits rose 3.7 % to SKK 41.86bn.

The building society, CSOB Stavebna sporitelna, signed 11,566 contracts worth SKK 1.5bn and claims 11 % market share in Slovakia.

CSOB Leasing signed contracts worth SKK 5.14bn in the monitored period, mostly on passenger and utility car leasing.

CSOB Poistovna, the insurance company, billed premiums worth SKK 910.9m, of which SKK 554.1m was in life insurance and SKK 356.8m was non-life insurance.
