Credit-rating agency for SMEs


Punjab National Bank, in association with six other public sector banks and the Small Industries Development Bank of India, intends to establish a credit rating agency for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The agency will focus on appraisals of SME units in the country. It is reported that credit appraisal for SMEs would become mandatory in the future for accessing funds from banks and financial institutions.
