THE export scenario for the domestic small and medium sector is on an upswing for the next six months. This has been indicated by the 17th Business Outlook survey for small and medium enterprises conducted by the Confederation of Indian Industry .
The survey, conducted by CII Small Business Council, has also highlighted issues such as cost of credit and procedural bottlenecks as factors that would play a crucial role in the export growth rate in the next six months.
The survey, based on feedback of approximately 65 per cent (exporters) of the 1,000 responses from CII's SME members, has shown a moderate impact on exports following dismantling of the Quantitative Restrictions. It showed that 53 per cent of the respondents were concerned over the decline in their profit margins due to increase in competition.
