Colombian party proposes that state buy invoices from companies

The Colombian Centro Democratico party proposed to the president Iván Duque that the state buy bills from the SMEs, which would provide them with liquidity to overcome the crisis caused by the coronavirus.

In a letter, the congressmen asked the president to study, in addition to reopening other subsectors of the economy, the possibility of implementing a kind of public factoring.

"We consider that this is the key to provide liquidity against purchase of invoices issued by SMEs, especially from the labor-intensive sectors such as clothing companies. The initiative contemplates the purchase of invoices at a certain percentage of their value, so that the remainder is a profit from intermediation, "explained the Centro Democratico.

They propose to use the funds from coronavirus emergencies.
