Coface can take the risk out of trading

By merely presenting a prospective partner's business card to Coface Services (Thailand) Co Ltd, an exporter can get an idea of the risk involved in the proposed transaction. Through its credit information service, @rating, the subsidiary of the France-based Coface Group is aiming to reduce credit risk for small- and medium-sized Thai exporters.

Coface Thailand specifically focuses on business information for credit ratings, and accounts receivables management and collection, but can help exporters obtain credit insurance and financial support through its local partners, which include AXA Insurance, Phatra Insurance, Samaggi Insurance and Krungthai Panich Insurance.

Segsarn Trai-Ukos, the company's manager, said Coface had amassed business and financial information on 44 million small- and medium-sized companies (SMEs) worldwide since it began offering the ratings service two years ago.
