Cattles help Blays on the path to growth

Manchester-based Blays Guides has formed a partnership with Cattles Invoice Finance to fund the growth of its new venture, a personal finance web-site, following the management buy-out (MBO) of the company last year.

Manchester entrepreneurs Sean Gardner, Pete Marshall and Andy Mathews, led the MBO in June 2003.

Mathews says: "Historically, Blays provided data to the financial services industry to help them position new products in the market and benchmark against competitor activity.

"The company had not been very successful and was losing money. However, we felt the service had a lot more potential to serve the consumer market in addition to the business sector, and this was the platform from which we planned to effect a turnaround on the business".
