Capital Leasing Pilot Project helps small business owners

Since 1961, hundreds of thousands of small businesses have obtained financing that might not otherwise have been available to them thanks to the Small Business Loans programme and its successor, the Canada Small Business Financing (CSBF) programme. Over the past few years it has made some $3.4bn in financing available to Canadian businesses, through more than 42,000 loans.

Today, the programme continues to help small firms grow and get established. Now there's even more. As of April 2002, a five-year Capital Leasing Pilot Project kicked in. Start-ups and younger firms now have another financing option to choose from, which will help them make better use of limited capital to innovate and enhance their businesses.
