CapBay and CGC Digital launch dual-facility guarantee scheme for MSMEs

CapBay has partnered with CGC Digital to launch a dual-facility digital guarantee scheme aimed at expanding access to financing for underserved MSMEs in Malaysia.

The programme is backed by a credit guarantee structure, offering both Islamic and conventional financing options under a single framework, a first for the scheme.

By integrating a guarantee mechanism, the initiative reduces risk for investors while enabling SMEs to access funding at more affordable rates, with repayment terms of up to 60 months.

The scheme is designed to address persistent financing gaps among smaller businesses, particularly those unable to secure traditional bank funding.

For the market, the launch highlights the growing role of guarantee-backed supply chain and working capital solutions, as fintech platforms and public institutions collaborate to unlock liquidity.
