Business confidence improves among SMEs

Perceiving a global recovery Hungarian firms are more optimistic regarding their business prospects and the country's economic situation in the coming months, according to the latest confidence report of research institute Ecostat.

SME confidence was also up 1.2 points to 48.7% in March, its highest level since May 2003, Ecostat said.

Ecostat's poll of Hungarian small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) showed that optimists now outnumber pessimists with regard to both their own situation (by 33% to 24%) and the state of the Hungarian economy (by 35% to 26%). However, the largest camp is still that of SMEs who foresee no change in the coming six months.
