Bridging the SME funding gap: World Bank's initiative in Kenya


Kenya launched a US$51.7m loan project for small and medium enterprises funded by the World Bank on Monday. Rebecca Miano, cabinet secretary in the Ministry of Investments, Trade, and Industry, revealed to journalists in Nairobi, the capital, that the Supporting Access to Finance and Enterprise Recovery project aims to offer participating financial institutions, such as microfinance institutions, digital lenders, and savings and credit cooperative organisations, with concessional loans for further lending to small entrepreneurs, reports Capitalfm Kenya.
