Bourse for SMEs celebrates its first birthday


A year ago, when the Shenzhen Stock Exchange launched its second bourse especially for China's small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), some market analysts remained sceptical over whether it could survive But 12 months on, speaking at the bourse's first birthday party yesterday in Beijing, Zhang Yujun, the exchange's general manager, is pleased with how things are going. "We are embracing active trading and increasing confidence and support from investors, especially institutional investors," he said.
