BankBoston to enter factoring

BankBoston Chile will enter the local factoring market on 15 October with the aim of capturing a 5% share by 2008, local press quoted the bank's CEO Boris Buvinic as saying. During the last couple of years several banks have shown an increasing interest in the fast-growing factoring business, with a view especially to boosting their presence in the SME segment. Chile's factoring association (Achef) has said it expects the local factoring industry to expand 30% this year due to new regulations that facilitate the collection process.
