Mexico's second largest bank Banamex has launched an online financial services portal for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the company said in a statement.
Through the "Banamex Si" service, SMEs seeking project funding can make a financing request online and have an answer within 24 hours.
"Today's market conditions make bank loans the best alternative for covering the financing needs of the country's SMEs, which until today have been unsatisfied," Banamex corporate sales director Enrique Zorrilla said in the statement.
Through this new programme, the bank plans to offer financing to SMEs that have been unable to secure it elsewhere and to those that think they would otherwise be unable to obtain an adequate financing solution.
Banamex Si is the first electronic channel that enables SMEs easily to learn their credit worthiness just by providing company information, according to the bank.
