John Verrill, head of corporate recovery and partner at leading law firm Lawrence Graham, was today appointed president of R3, the Association of Business Recovery Professionals. Verrill wasted no time in announcing his plans to shake up the insolvency profession.
“As president of R3, I will look to encourage the profession to harmonise regulation," he commented. "With eight regulators for a profession totalling 1700 members something is awry. I think we should look long and hard at inconsistencies in the way we are regulated and believe R3 should play a major role in steering the direction of future regulation.”
