Ann Horan becomes the first woman FDA chairman

Ann Horan, the first woman to become MD of a Bank of Ireland business unit, has now also become the first woman to Chair the Factors & Discounters Association (FDA), the trade association that represents the interests of factors, discounters and asset-based lenders in the UK and Ireland.

Ann begins her twelve-month tenure as chairman of the FDA (representing an industry worth Ј8 billion) from June 2003, taking over the reins from the current FDA Chairman, Tony Cox, managing director of Venture Finance PLC. Her appointment is also significant in that she represents the first Irish lender to become chairman of the FDA.

Currently managing director of Bank of Ireland Finance, Ann has been in the banking industry for 25 years and is a Certified Accountant and a graduate of Dublin City University.
