A.M. Best affirms rating of Assurances Generales de France


A.M. Best Co. has affirmed the financial strength rating of A++ (Superior) of Assurances Generales de France (AGF), France, and its core subsidiaries, Assurances Generales de France IART and Assurances Generales de France Vie.

The ratings reflect AGF's core status to its ultimate parent, Allianz AG, its superior risk-adjusted capitalisation, improving operating performance and superior business profile. The ratings remain under review with negative implications.

Best regards AGF as a core entity to Allianz AG. AGF enhances Allianz's geographic presence in addition to providing leading global expertise in a number of specialty lines such as credit insurance and assistance business. In 2001, AGF accounted for 26.0% of the Allianz Group's consolidated net premium income and 30.0% of net income.
